The Richmond District: Local's San Francisco
Eat breakfast at your apartment and pack lunches to eat on your hike. Head out to hike Land’s End. Make sure you watch for whales toward the end of the hike! Also, bonus points if you can find the Land’s End Labyrinth. We like to eat our lunch at the very end overlooking the Golden Gate. (680 Point Lobos Ave)
If you're wondering where the real San Francisco locals live, you've found it. This area is rumored to have better Chinese food than Chinatown. Here are my three favorite spots to check out:
6th Avenue Aquarium: A flower shop in the front then a big, crowded aquarium in the back. Large selection of strange fish in precarious tanks. Don’t bring your stroller in here it won’t fit. Be sure to go to the very back and go upstairs. Think about how scary it would be if there were an earthquake. (425 Clement St)
Green Apple Books: A cool independent bookstore. Don’t miss this place. Amazing kids section.
Clement Street: Check out the ducks hanging in the windows at the markets. Go into one of the small shops that sells Chinese trinkets and give your kids $5.00 to buy lead based toys, hamburger shaped erasers, switch blade combs or funky plastic shoes.
Eat dinner at Taiwan Restaurant (445 Clement St). This is my favorite place to eat on this street. I like the dry beans and the pork buns. Everything here is good. Decor leaves something to be desired.
