Impressionism at The Musée d'Orsay With Kids

Impressionism at The Musée d'Orsay With Kids

Activity: The Orsay Museum. Metro Stop: Solferino. Walk three blocks NW. Cost: Covered by your Museum Pass or €14/adult, free for kids under 18. Hours: 9 am-6 pm, closed Mondays, open until 21:45 pm on Thursdays.

You can keep your Louvre art. Medieval art doesn't speak to me the way Impressionism does. People say (and I agree!) this is the most enjoyable art museum in Paris!

It has the best collections of Manet, Monet, Renoir, Degas, Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Gaugin. If you're in a hurry head straight for the Impressionism section, up the left staircase. A good way to keep kids engaged: have your kids get close to the paintings, try to guess what they are and then slowly back up to see if they were right.

If you have younger kids, there is an excellent artistic couch that can double as a play area for babies and toddlers. It’s on the other side of the clock. We left one parent here with the baby while the other parent saw the Impressionists and then we swapped. He really enjoyed climbing through all the different couch sections.
